The main solution from Trump’s speech to Congress: Culture Wars and GOP Unity
By Sahil Kapoor
President Donald Trump used his new imposed tariff and hit the Republican locks for his early actions, when he spoke to the Congress joint session on Tuesday, a wave of opposition to Democrats.
Long in culture wars, Trump pointed to transgender rights, “he/he” pronouns and variety, equity and incorporating programs. He celebrated his harsh on the migration. He repeatedly tortured his predecessor, B Bid, that the former president imposed “mad and very dangerous open border policies” and offered Democrats a little in the way of olive branches, instead of a 2024 victory as a re -shaped.
Here is our remedy from the speech – and how it sets the rest of Trump’s 2025.
Trump defended his tariff move: Trump said 25% of the tariffs on Canada and Mexico products are “about protecting the soul of our country” because many of the Republicans have praised.
Trump traditionally free trade GOP. There is a sign of how the change has been made, though there is a slight discomfort at the party about prices and the effects of tariffs on the broad economy.
“There will be a little disturbance,” Trump added. “But we are okay with it. It will not be much. “
Outline the agenda for “Big, Beautiful Bill”: Trump spent significant time on issues from transgender athletes to the work of the Department of Government Efficiency. But the biggest thing that Congress can work this year will be a huge tax and cost bill, and Trump outlined its priorities.
Trump reaffirmed his calls to reduce taxes and include many campaigns in the bill later this year – especially killing taxes on tips and overtime. Republicans of the Congress are wrestling with the possibility of those proposals.
What is missing: Some of the thorny issues reflected in the wide target of the Republican Railing were mostly lost or completely from speech.
The Israeli and American hostages held by Hamas in Gaza received a mention, but Trump did not say much more on widespread issues from the Middle East. And as the GOP’s budget and cost plans take shape, there was no mention of Medic AID – a large part of the Federal Budget that could be aimed at changes. And Trump did not consider the federal worker’s cuts that have raised concerns in pushback from some Congress Republicans and people.

A outrageous by the silent protest of the Trump speech of Democrats
By Scott Wong and Frank Thorpe V
The House and the Senate Democrats quietly opposed Trump – refused to praise, caught the signs of saying “king” and “lies” and for some, exited the address together.
Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, Memo was not found.
Trump told the legislators that he won a command, the progressive thunder-rouser, Rose, began to hoist sugarcane on Trump and repeatedly voiced: “You have no command!” The weapon’s sergeant immediately from the chamber first during the address of the modern-day President to the Congress.
Democratic leaders did not want. They warned their rank-and-file members not to bring in the joint address nor to bring props and to stay on the message and focus on the federal workers run by the Government Efficiency Department of Trump and its billionaire adviser Elon Musk, as well as their policies and cuts.
But it is difficult to keep every Congress Democrat in line. From the moment Trump walked on the floor of the house, it was clear that this Congress would not have a normal speech. Stansbury, New Mexico’s Mela, has a sign of the top Democrat on the new Dodge Sub Committee, peacefully behind reading Trump: “This is not normal.”
After he greeted Trump, rap. Lance Goodon, R-Texas, arrived around the wing, removed the sign from Stansbury and threw it into the air-on all live TV.
Senate Democrats, meanwhile, Stood was the brother when Trump walked down the center wing, but he did not praise.
Rep. Rashida Tlyab, D-Mitch, brought an eracable whiteboard in the chamber and wrote various messages to Trump all night: “No King,” “He is a liar” and “You are cutting Medic AID,” for example.
