(NexStar) – Food delivery service Grubhub says “security phenomena” allows contact information for “unauthorized accesses” for the number of customers and drivers.
Breach includes a third-party service provider, The company said on MondayExplaining that the investigation was recently launched after “unusual activity” was found. The third-party contractor was providing services for Grubbb’s support team.
“We immediately terminated the Account Access Xace and completely removed the service provider from our systems,” Grubhab said in a press release, “believes that this phenomenon is fully contained.”
It is not clear how many users were affected by data breaking, though Grubhub notes that “campus dinner, as well as dinners, traders and drivers contact information that interacted with our customer care service”.
That data includes names, email addresses and phone numbers. For some Campus meal Users (this service is for students to use campus and outside), Grubhub says that the type of payment card and the last four digits of the card number were also.
When some Hashed Company Passwords were successful, no customer passwords were affected. Grubhub, however, reminds customers that their passwords should be unique “to reduce the risk”.
According to Grubhab, full payment card numbers, bank account details, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers and businessman Login Guin information were not successful.
“We have taken crucial steps to further protect our systems and are actively strengthening our security restrictions to prevent such events in the future,” the company said. Grubhub did not immediately respond to Nexstar’s request for additional information.
