According to the Associated Press, on Tuesday, the disease control and prevention centers (CDCs) notified about 180 employees, who were released two weeks ago that they could return to work, according to the Associated Press.
Two federal health officials provided information on the tally, but did not give the authority to speak publicly, APin said that about 180 people had received emails.
AP Read the subject line of email seen by, “Read this e-mail immediately.” “After further review and consideration,” the employee was cleared to return to work on Wednesday.
The email reads, “You should return to duty under your previous work schedule.” “We apologize for any disruption caused by this.”
Current and former CDC employees told AP that emails were sent to some CDC probationary employees who received the expiry instructions last month. It is not clear how many of those employees returned to work on Wednesday.
Administrative officials told the CDC last month that about 1,300 probationary employees would be cut off, but about 700 to 750 employees received the termination notifications.
The total number of employees terminated by federal officials has not been confirmed, but, with 180 reinstalled employees, the potential sits at approximately 550.
Amid legal challenges, many agencies had to restore employees after cutting the efforts of Trump and Tech billionaire Alon Musk to remove waste in the federal government.
