For the Kingdom of Iranian – or anyone who works for its proxy will have to register their presence in the UK or face prison time.
Security Minister Dan Jarvis said Iran is being placed at the advanced level of Foreign Impact Registration Scheme (FIRS), including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence services.
This means that any members of the Iranian state, or anyone working on behalf of the state, will have to carry out “political influence activities” in the UK.
Failure to register is a criminal offense and can mean five years in prison.
Mr. Jarvis said that the scheme would run by summer.
He said that the Iranian state is targeting Jewish and Israeli people in the UK, as well as the UK-based Persian-language media criticizing Iran.
The minister said Iran was trying to “intimidate and criticize”.
In October Chatber, the head of the MI5 announced that the security service in the UK has failed 20 Iran -backed plots since the beginning of 2022.
