Rumors of Pope Francis’s resignation are gaining momentum as the cardinals begin to collect, but an internal person insists that the pontiff will not be moved.
As Pope spends his 19th day at Rome’s Jamalli Hospital with double pneumonia, there is pressure on the future of the church.
Francis wrote a letter 12 years ago, if he became very ill to serve, but despite his ongoing battle of health, he will not lose, a friend said.
As the delicate Pope continues to work with his illness and passes the senior officials on other duties, cardinals are gathering to discuss the resignation.
But Francis’ friend and biographer, Argentina journalist Elizabata Pick is firm or not the Pontif position.
“He has always been a fighter. He doesn’t give under pressure.”
“They put pressure on it the more, it won’t be more likely.”
Vatican has been just as firm in the rejecting rumors that the pop is considering resignation.
But French Cardinal Jean-Mark Avelli, who tips to be one of the contenders to replace Francis, said at a press conference that “everything is possible.”
Despite the increasing fears of his health, Pontif has continued with some of his work with his illness, such as meeting with senior members of the church and calling phone calls.
But, on Tuesday, Vatican confirmed that the former Rome of Rome, Cardinal Angelo de Donatis, will lead the annual ash Wednesday service on March 5.
The 88 -year -old was shocked on Monday, which placed her on a ventilator after two “acute respiratory failures”.
Vatican confirmed that it suffered “significant accumulation of endobranchial mucus and consequently bronchospasm”.
Pontif had to go through two bronchoscopy where doctors examined their airways.
But on Tuesday, it was announced that Francis was removed from the ventilator and is once again stable.
It added that the pope is believed to be the body of the pope reacting to a medical emergency infection.
How will the next pop be chosen?
The front pop is chosen by the process called Papal Conclave, which occurs after the death or resignation of the current pop.
Here’s how it works:
- College of Cardinals is called Vatican
- Cardinals meet in cysteine chapel and vote by secret ballot
- They will prepare for the next sin election – called Conclave
- These Catholic leaders will vote once in the first days and every additional day four times a day
- This vote will continue until one candidate gets two thirds of votes
- Then a nominal person accepts offer fur and chose their new sin name
- This result will be confirmed when white smoke burns from the System Chapel Chimney
He is receiving oxygen through the nasal cannula and was sleeping well at night but his prognosis is described as “protected”.
“The Holy Father has always been aware, oriented and collaborative,” Holy CA added in a statement.
But when his position seems to be stagnant, the prognosis remains uncertain.
Medical experts have warned that Francis spends her 19th day in the hospital, as the crisis is often worrisome.
Bruno Crestani, the head of the Pulmonology Department of Bitcht Hospital in Paris, said: “At the age of 88, staying in the hospital for two weeks and repeated episodes of respiratory discomfort is a very bad sign”.
Harvi Peglysko, the head of the pulmonology of Marseille’s European Hospital, added that with double pneumonia, “fatigue is an issue, because it is forced to make more effort to breathe”.
Francis, who has led the Catholic Church since 2013, has a history of lung problems, a lung part of a lung because of pluricity as a young man.
The full update on its status is likely to be released on Tuesday evening.
