The Czech government plans to gradually increase defense costs by up to 3% of the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030, which is higher than the current 2%.
Prime Minister Patr Fiala announced the decision after a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, saying “shows our partners that they can trust us.”
“We must be prepared to defend ourselves,” he emphasized registering a war in Ukraine.
The budget will increase the point of 0.2 percent annually.
Since 1999, a member of NATO, the Czech Republic has recently launched many major military procurement projects. The plans include advanced anti -aircraft systems, German leopard main war tanks and Swedish CV90 armored employee carriers.
