Alavite villages and residents of towns talked about the killings with the Associated Press, during which the gunmen shot Alavites, most of them were men, on the streets or at the door of their homes. Two residents of the Syrian coastal region told AP from their hid that many homes of Alavites were robbed and then set fire to different areas.
They asked that their names would not be disclosed for fear of being killed by gunmen, and added that thousands of people fled to the nearby mountains for security.
Banes’ residents, one of the most hit towns of violence, said the bodies were spread across the streets or unbearable to the roofs of houses and buildings, and no one was able to collect them. One resident said the gunmen prevented the residents from removing the bodies of their five neighbors for hours, which killed the residents in the nearest range on Friday.
Ali Sheha, 57, who fled with his family and neighbors on Friday, said that at least 20 of his neighbors and colleagues where Alavites lived, were killed in his shop or at his house.
Shiha described the Alavite minority attacks as “revenge” for the crimes committed by Assad’s government. Other residents said the gunmen included foreign fighters and terrorists of neighboring villages and towns.

Abdurhamman said of the murder of Alavite citizens, “This was the biggest massacre during the Syrian conflict.”
