A Formula 1 and International Federation of Automobilism (FIA) officialized, this Friday (7), an entry of Cadillac as a 11th grid team from 2026.
“FIA EA Formula 1 can confirm that, after completion of their respective sports, technical and commercial assessments, the candidacy of General Motors and TWG Motorsports to bring a Cadillac team to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026 has been approved,” confirms a publication.
The agreement had been announced in November, but still needed final approval.
Cadillac will be the first new participant in Formula 1 in ten years since the entrance of Haas in 2016.
A Ferrari will provide motors and exchange boxes for a new team in multi-annual agreement a 2026. Despite this, a US automaker will use proper pieces from 2028.
