A gaucho Nicole Silveira won the most made of Brazil’s history in winter sports, this Friday (7), without skeleton championship.
She finished a competition – played in Lago Placid, in the United States – in Wednesday, something unheard of in Brazilian participation in winter competitions. O gold was with the Dutch Kimberley Bos.
Nicole, 30, even lidged the competitione on the last lap when she made the time of 3min41s23, but was surpassed by the favorites who later came: Kimberley (1st), Mystique Ro (2nd) and Anna Fernsta.

Although not reached the podium, Nicole reaches something historical. A comparison title, without a 2024 World Cup, she finished in the 13th post. In 2021, a Brazilian was 24th – that is, gained 20 positions in four years.
Before Nicole’s quarton, the most made Brazilian winter sports had been sizing the 12th place of Isabel Clark without 2001 world snowboarded Cross Championship 24 years ago.
An expectation is now a gaucho can win the first Brazilian medal in a winter Olympics. The next edition will be at the 2026 Milan-Cortin Winter Olympic Games in February next year.
