Xavi broke his silence in his management reign in Barcelona, 10 months after being dismissed from his duties by club president Joan Laporte.
After a 22 -year career, 18 of which were spent on the Catalan giants, Xavi hung his boots and took over the training.
He began his journey on the side of Qatar Al-Sadd, where he spent the four seasons of his career before taking over the reins in Barcelona in November 2021.
Xavi spent three years in his childhood club, earning two honors at that time – Laliga and the Spanish Super Cup in 2022-23. The next season did not present the same fruit to Barça, who finished 10 points behind Laliga Real Madrid champions.
Xavi announced in January 2024 that he would leave the club at the end of the campaign. So, in a change of heart, he reversed his decision and decided in April to be, just to be fired a month later.
The legendary half -term has now opened up in his time tumultuous in Barcelona, highlighting the only decision he is most proud of, and reveals how his team’s luck derailed to the last stages of his managerial mandate.

The former midfielder took over the training after he finished his 22-year career at Qatar in 2019
The 45 -year -old man told France Football: ‘Looking back, our balance – including my technical team – is very positive, because the club was in one of the worst situations in its history, even worse than in the early 2000s.
‘Tactically, [Sergio] The Busquets match forced us to rethink our game. I then opted for a midfielder with three strikers who do not always bear fruit.
In addition to the titles, I am proud to have deposited my confidence in a new generation, Fermin Lopez, Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde. These young people incorporate the club’s future.
Xavi noted that the departure of Barcelona’s soccer director, Mateu Alemany, and his sports director Jordi Cruyff was part of the reason his team fought in his last season at the club. The two men departed from Barça at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
He added: ‘My first and a half year in Barça was very, very good. We had a good project with Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff, who allowed us to finish second in Laliga, before winning it in 2023, as well as the Spanish Super Cup.
‘So the results were less good. The match of Jordi and Mateu was a hard blow.
Despite his managerial mandate, Xavi clarified that he realized his dreams in Barcelona and thanks for the success he had in football.
‘I am privileged, I overcome my childhood dreams. Wherever I go to the world, people remember me from my time at Barça, the national team and the title of the world champion, ‘he said.

Since leaving Barcelona, Xavi has been out of job for the past 10 months, but has come closer to returning to administration when Man United’s entourage has flown to Spain to keep him conversations about the replacement of Erik Ten Hag.
Although these negotiations were unsuccessful, Xavi had already made clear his desire to manage the Premier League.
“I would be thrilled to work there,” the four -time Champions League winner once told Times.
“Everyone tells me that the Premier League is wonderful, a big league to work. First of all, for the passion for the way they live the game. How they treat and respect you, the atmosphere and the stadiums.
‘So why not? I could see myself in England, it’s definitely one of the things I would like to experience in my career.
