The extreme of Scotland, Ben Doak, could lose the rest of the season while recovering from surgery on a thigh injury.
The 19 -year -old, who is borrowed Liverpool’s Middlesbrough, already seems to be out of this month’s double header with Greece.
When Boro’s manager, Michael Carrick, was asked if he expects ex -Jocovem Celta to play for the English championship club again in this campaign, he replied that it was “hard to say.”
Doak played the last of his 24 games for the candidates on January 25 – and seemed to be on the way to recovery before an operation was considered necessary.

Doak has not played at Middlesbrough, where he is loaned by Liverpool, since January 25

Boro’s manager, Michael Carrick, admitted that it was “hard to say” if Doak’s season was ending
Carrick revealed: ‘He’s back to Liverpool doing some rehab. Let’s see where it goes and how long it is out.
‘He was doing his rehab and then came up. It is unfortunate for us and ben personally to suffer it, but it is part of the game. He will be back stronger.
Despite his tender years, Doak has been a highlight for Steve Clarke’s Scots since he received the first of his six caps last September.
The national team now will probably have to be without him when facing Greece at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Pireu on March 20, before playing the second hand in Hampden three days later.
Clarke’s side needs to win a tie on the play-off to stay in the A League A after finishing third in his section.
