Sako, now 36, was selected by seventh overall in the draft of Deportrio – the team run by Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards.
During his playing career, the wing also made 118 appearances for Wolves and appeared in five matches for the black country’s rival.
Sako’s national team comes after host Maya Jama and Juventus striker Alisha Lehmann were announced as the latest managers before the Baller League launch.
Lehmann, who plays for Juventus, had already participated in the first season of the Baller League in Germany in 2023.
Swiss soccer player and former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski were the managers of ‘Streets United’, who won the inaugural season.
