Amad Diallo could return due to injury before the end of the season, said Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim.
Diallo was discarded by the rest of the campaign after damaging the ankle ligaments in training last month and undergoing surgery.
The injury was a great setback for United after Ivory Coast International emerged as an important participant in the Amorim system, scoring six goals under the new Portuguese coach.
But Amorim raised hopes that Dollo could return before the end of the season in late May after making good progress in his recovery.
“Amad we’ll see last month,” said United chief before Sunday’s confrontation with Arsenal in Old Trafford. “I don’t want to say anything, but I hope to have Amad before the end of the season.” Let’s talk about Sunday and see.
After having only five field players on the bank for the Europa League draw on Thursday night with Real Sociedad, Amorim is not waiting for anyone back to Arsenal.

However, Mason Mount has not been playing since Manchester Derby in mid -December, and Amorim believes his other injured players such as Kobbie Manoo, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte and Luke Shaw will also be back except Lisandro Martinez, who is out of season.
Amorim added: ‘Lisandro is out. Kobbie can return. Maguire we have to be careful. Manu will return. I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can also come back. They will definitely come back, especially Mason Mount.
Amorim should decide whether to start Chido Obi against Arsenal after the teenager striker was not eligible against the Sociedad. Rasmus Hojlund’s goal drought continued in his 21st hour at San Sebastian and the Dane also removed on the field with teammate Diogo Dalot.
“Everyone can start,” said Amorim. ‘If they are training tomorrow, if they play today, they may be ready – and Chido is on the list so he can play.
‘When you are in this type of club, you can’t think so (about rotation) with a small squad right now. We are trying to see all fresh players who do not risk suffering an injury. Even with that, we have to risk a little, but we need to be competitive on Sunday.
