Google searches to boost AI-iFix: the company on Wednesday announced that it will begin to show AI overview for more questions, and that users around the world, who have been logged out of Google, will also start to look at them.
Google also has another ambitious AI search tool. It is called AI mode, and it brings a search -centered chatbot to the main Google experience. It is, more or less, Google’s parable or chatagapt search. For now, AI mode is just a test – it is only available to users paying for Google One AI Premium, and they have to enable it to the Labs section of the search.
The idea behind AI Mode is that many people seeking Google really prefer to remain their results mainly AI-generated. If you switch to AI mode (it’s a tab in the search page or Google app like images or news) and enter a query, you will get back the answers attached to a few supporting links, depending on everything in Google’s search index. The user experience looks like a little Gemini or any other chatbot, but you are communicating with a search-specific model, which means it is more capable of tapping real-time data and contacting the web directly.
AI mode is just the latest indication of how important AI-generated materials have become for Google search, and despite its well-documented issues of its models with rock diet and glue pizza, how much the company can distribute to its models. Search team product VP Robbie Stein says, “What we are looking for from people using AI Overview is that they are really bringing different questions to Google.” “They are more complicated questions, before it was a bit difficult.” Google is bringing a Gemini 2.0 model to AI overview, and Stein says it will make Google more useful for questions that require math, coding and more practical logic.
As the Google AI search always moves ER in the search, it seems that it is running away from connection with websites – and it is a trade of basic value made from the Internet. Stein is firm that is not the case. “We have seen that with AI overview, people will get reference, and they will click. And when they click and go to websites, it will be longer on those websites. They are probably the better customers of those websites because they are already referring to. “He says he hopes that AI will bring new people to Google for new things instead of canbalizing AI overview and AI mode.
Stein says AI mode is not a Trojan horse for full search overall, as people use Google for many things to replace it with chatbot. But there is no denying that Google’s AI efforts are starting to surround them completely, and will change quickly, what happens when you google.
